Lou founded this creative writing program for the purpose of improving the cultural visibility of Qianjiang, a small city in Hubei where people's stories are often left unnoticed.

Living both in small cities and bigger ones in Hubei, Tome Loulin uses his unique imagination to preserve the memories, small talks, and cherishing interactions with people he had encountered in an authentic way. To tell and retell a story or an encounter, as Loulin puts it, is to live through that part of our lives anew in a radically reshaped and reimagined way, which is crucial for our intellectual survival.
